On August 5, a fully-inclusive version of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) was introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Susan Collins (R-ME), Olympia Snowe (R-ME) and Edward M. Kennedy (D-MA). The legislation – which boasts bipartisan support – would ban discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
PFLAG and TNET have been long-time supporters of this inclusive bill, and now that it has been introduced, it is the responsibility of our members, supporters, and advocates to keep it alive and moving through the halls of Congress and to the President’s desk to be signed into law.
