PFLAG on the move!

Dear Membership and Supporters,

Summer is an active time for PFLAG and we will be participating in several events and activities in the near future. The first is Eugene/Springfield PRIDE at Alton Baker Park on August 8th. We need folks for tabling so if you are interested contact our volunteer coordinator Doug at thiesen[at]yahoo.com

Next on Sunday, August 16th is our annual PFLAG Family Picnic which is a potluck. More info to come asap confirming time and location.

We will also be tabling at the Eugene Celebration September 4-6th and marching in the parade on September 5th. We need you help tabling and marching with us for this event too! Contact Doug if you would like to volunteer to table or march in the parade. We need as many folks as we can get to march in the parade!

Finally, the PFLAG Board met in July and decided to discontinue the monthly PFLAG General Meetings at the First Congregation Church due to lack of attendance and facilitators. The board did however set a goal to either participate in, or implement quarterly events for the PFLAG community to promote education, advocacy and support. Our Parent Only support meeting and youth meetings will continue as usual. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to provide our membership and friends with the best possible services our volunteer board can provide

Here is a talk given by the inimitable Bonnie Tinker, whose powerful witness on behalf of marriage equality will be missed. She died last Thursday in a sad accident, while attending an event in Virginia.
